Moments of Learning

Savvy, Judah and I were hanging out together in the kitchen. Judah tripped over one of Glenn's shoes...Savannah then says "Whoa, are you okay Jujah?" It was the cutest thing ever because whenever either of them have a minor fall that is word for word what I say to them. It is amazing as I watch Savannah pick up things from me. She really is watching me all the time and she does so many things that I do. It is that moment you realize you are at the point everyone talks about with being careful of your actions because your children follow your example.

Savvy says "at you" for Thank you.
She says "Caaawwww" for Color.
Judah loves to laugh, lately he has been going "heh heh heehh" if you understand the sound I am trying to convey here...: )
Judah says "All Done" when he is finished eating!
Savvy's favorite thing to do is push you on the ground to start wrestling with her.
Savvy also likes lotion. When I put some on, she has to have some too.
If I take something away from Savvy that she shouldn't have she yells "wait, wait, wait" at me with a huge emphasis on the T sound.
Savannah makes this funny face after she has talked to you and you respond back, she slowly blinks her eyes closed with her eye brows raised as if she was saying "uh yeah" or "a yeah , I know".
Savannah is talking to me right now holding her hand out and moving it up and down...she is going to talk with her hands just like her momma does. : )
Judah's favorite thing to do is to push buttons on the play station. No matter how many times he gets in trouble for it he keeps going back. I have even placed the ottoman in front of the tv for as long as the kids are awake. I also push the player as far back as it can go. He goes to the side and stretches as far as can so he can grab a cord to pull or push the eject button. It drives Glenn and I crazy.
Every time Judah naps or sleeps after he has finished drinking his sippy he tosses it over the side of his bed. It is as if he says "done with that".
Judah loves when we all huddle in to say prayers, he starts giggling and getting so excited, it is as if he says "hey guys!! what are we doing?!"Judah has been starting to fold his arms for prayer time now. So we have both our kids starting off our family prayer with us...but after we start it the kids try to run away. : )

I love Savannah and Judah so much! They really do make our lives so much fun!

Savvy Birthday

How could you not love that face...those would be grapes she shoved in her mouth :)
Do you love her foot propping up the present?
This is Savvy's cake that I made. I used the Cricut Cake Machine! I finally figured out how to use it correctly! It was my first one using it the right way so I still need some practice but I was excited how it turned out.

She really did like the clothes by the way. Thanks to Uncle Josh and Aunt Annie and Uncle Brandon and Aunt Lisa for the gifts.. I didn't get her opening the others this time...but she has loved all of them!!

Least Favorite Hide and Seek

Judah has only one sippy...because he likes the softer tip and the one he has is like $7...so he only gets one. But as you can imagine that does have the potential problems of getting lost. That possibility has grown more recently because Judah likes to "put it away" in certain places. One day I opened up the silverware drawer and guess what I found? yup his sippy. Another time I opened my cupboard with my pots and pans and there it was. One evening Judah was definitely ready to go to bed, he was so cranky and for some reason I could not find that dang sippy ANYWHERE! I seriously looked for 30 minutes straight! Finally I looked in the mircowave of our play kitchen and there it was!! (I know I probably should have thought to look there sooner, but I have never needed to before...I check there now though) It is funny now, but I was not laughing when it happened : )

Whenever Glenn, the kids and I get out of the car to go in the house we race to the door. We each grab a kid and run, it is really fun. They LOVE it!! The other day Glenn and Judah were running hard to catch up with Savannah and I because we were so fast. As Savvy and I waited(which seemed like forever...haha...just kidding Glenn) I see Glenn coming but I couldn't see Judah, he was going so fast that Judah could not keep himself sitting up straight on Glenn's shoulders. Judah's head arrived about an entire second after Glenn ; ) I think poor little Judah got whiplash. It is hard to explain easier to understand if you saw it yourself. But it was funny.
Bethany(my niece), Savannah and Judah were playing together. Judah kept walking over to the kitchen and opening the microwave door. Papa Robbins would go over after and shut the door. Judah would walk back and see it closed and would open it again. He did this six times and then I got the last part of it on video. It was really cute and funny.

Savvy Moments

Lately when Savannah and I play ball together she has to sit directly in front of me..with our knees touching! Then she tosses the ball into my lap. If I try and slide back she slides forward. It is pretty funny.

When the weather is warm I unlock Savannah's window in the car. She gets so excited when it starts going down. She doesn't mind if it is 45 degrees outside she wants the window down.

We have had fans all over our house for the past week because the neighbor upstairs flooded their laundry room and it flooded into our condo...so we had a lot of fun discovering the fan in the living room.
video
Savvy put Grammy Robbins' bug sunglasses on...I have to admit I think she can pull them off!

Savvy lined up all her dishes on the stairs...a little hazardous : )

Valentines

This was the Valentine that Judah gave out to his friends at Mommy School! It says "I "mustache" you a question...Will you be my valentine?"
Savvy gave out Tinkerbell-it was a lot of fun!

I am His daughter

I have a strong belief, as I am sure many of you do too, that Satan's number one weapon against women is to get us to destroy our own self worth.
How many times do we tell ourselves.."if only I could...(lose some more weight...be more athletic...be taller...be shorter...dress more trendy...change my nose...be more talented...make my ears stick out less.......the list can go on and on....) Somehow we can always find someone in our lives that we see as completely perfect and we say to ourselves "If only I could be like her" We have days that we feel we are ugly and that we are not good at anything. We truly convince ourselves that there is absolutely nothing good about us. If the thoughts we had about ourselves were said out loud by our best friend or our husband, it would break our heart that they think that about themselves. We would know it wasn't true and would want to show them why it wasn't true. But with ourselves we are not kind. We are not compassionate or understanding. We are not as forgiving. Do you find it as incredible as I do that, although we know these thoughts are inflamed by Satan and that Heavenly Father has told us they are not true, we listen to them anyway? Why are they false about others but true about ourselves? I think one of the problems we have is the "all or nothing" concept. We only have a particular talent if we are the best at it. We are only beautiful if everything about ourselves is perfect(which is kind of funny because we know none of us are). We really think things consist of having it all or we have none of it. President Hinckley said "You need never feel inferior. You need never feel you were born without talents or without opportunities to give them expression. Cultivate whatever talents you have, and they will grow. …try a little harder to measure up to the divine within each of you.” (President Gordon B. Hinckley, Ensign, May 1995) He also said "I am suggesting that we "accentuate the positive." I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good"(Ensign July 2001) If we want to see what is wrong with ourselves we will! Elder Holland said "I plead with you....to please be more accepting of yourselves, including your body shape and style, with a little less longing to look like someone else. We are all different. Some are tall, and some are short. Some are round, and some are thin. And almost everyone at some time or other wants to be something they are not!.....“You can’t live your life worrying that the world is staring at you. When you let people’s opinions make you self-conscious you give away your power. … The key to feeling [confident] is to always listen to your inner self—[the real you.]” And in the kingdom of God, the real you is “more precious than rubies.”" A friend of mine asked her husband if he thought Heavenly Father weeps sometimes because of the way she thinks about herself and he told her "I know He does, because I do" If only we could see ourselves the way the Lord sees us, if only we could see the woman we have the opportunity to become. At this time, we can't. But if we can trust in the Lord and believe Him when He says we have Divine Worth, that we are valued above anything else. We can focus on "Becoming the woman of whom I dream" (Gordon B. Hinckley Ensign May 2001) instead of what we aren't. I know that we are more beautiful than we think we are. We are more talented than we give ourselves credit for. We are His daughter.
I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Judah talking...Savvy Singing...

Savvy was completely uninterested in talking right away. But Judah has now said the words "soft" "hi" and "ya". Go Judah!

Savannah loves to sing now...which is fun because she was pretty uninterested about that before too...but now she does it all the time! Sometimes she will just bust out a long-holding note with her hands held out. It is so funny! Love that girl!

Loving These moments

Following in her Dad's footsteps....literally.

When I wear my apron Judah comes up behind me and unties the bow and pulls and swats at my apron strings. He is so funny!

Psychology of Cleaning

Judah was down for his mid-morning nap and Savvy was out in the living room with Glenn. I went in the bedroom to do some cleaning and just jumped into bed for a minute, not to sleep, but to just lay there. (that is what happens when your kids wake up at around 6 every morning and you go to bed at 12 every night) I was thinking about how I needed to get some cleaning done today and I thought about what to tackle first...I thought back about other ways I have organized my cleaning when a big job is to be done. There are two things that you can do first to help you get motivated to clean. The first is to make your bed. If you walk into your room and there is laundry to fold, and toys in your room, make your bed and it seems like half of the work is done and creates a huge difference immediately. The second, although not as fast to do, is the dishes! If you have a clean sink and no dishes on the counter all of the sudden you have more motivation to clean the rest. Sometimes cleaning is mental!! The rest of the cleaning will not be so bad because it will appear so much cleaner already.

Those are my thoughts on the psychology of cleaning! Maybe it is different for you, but it works for me. I think I will go make my bed now! : )
